Description
With his band, Stone Caravan – an Americana, Jersey Shore, rock & roll band, they have created a worldwide grassroots network of fans. Joe’s catalog of music is released on his own label, SCR, along with Schoolhouse Records. Long-time Stone Caravan members Sam LaMonica (drums) and Greg Lykins (guitar) were joined in 2015 by Jerry Scaringe (bass) after the sudden passing of Mr. Lou DeMartino in 2015, and Seth Saltzman on keyboards. In recent years, Gary Pellegrino has been performing on drums due to Sam’s health issues.
JD&SC’s newest release, “Thurman” in June 2023, features nine D’Urso originals (including “Step Right Up,” and “Groundhog Day”) as well as Bob Seger’s “Till It Shines,” and a song from Norwegian songwriter Trond Svendsen, “Love Like This”.
Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan run the gamut of straight-up, full out Americana rock and roll, singer-songwriter offerings, Jersey Shore influences and the quiet observances of NY State/Catskill Mountain country music.
With “Thurman,” Joe D’Urso has released 17 records since 1991, the most recent ones being “Jersey Diner” in 2018, “Live From The Upstage” in 2021, and “What Would Pete Do” in 2022. Other CD releases that have expanded JD&SC’s fan base are the fan favorites “Rock & Roll Station” in 2000, “Glow” in 1998, and “Mirrors, Shoestrings & Credit Cards” in 1996.
